HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT
The Department was established in 1975. At that time, the novelty of the Institute’s scientific developments was confirmed by the received copyright certificates of the USSR, patents of the Russian Federation, the USA, Great Britain, France, and Germany.
In total, by 1991, the following were received:
- USSR copyright certificates – 220
- Foreign patents – 18
- Industrial design certificates – 11
- Trademark certificates – 2
To ensure the marketing of the results of scientific developments and the expansion of their implementation, the Department was renamed as the Department of Technology Transfer, Innovative Activities, and Intellectual Property.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND AWARDS
In 2004, being the Director of the Institute at that time, academician of the NAS of Ukraine, Valentyn I. Gryschenko, in 2007, senior researcher, PhD (biology), Head of the Department, Olga S.Prokopyuk, and in 2011, being the Director of the Institute at that time, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine, Anatoliy M. Goltsev were awarded the title “Inventor of the Year of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine”.

In 2010, the Institute was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine and won the third prize among the Institutions of the NAS of Ukraine.
Participation of the Institute in the All-Ukrainian competition “Inventor of the Year”:
- 2007 – nomination “Best Inventor Among Young People” – third place patent for invention No. 74976 “Preparation for the treatment of burns based on chorionic cells, method of its preparation and treatment”.
- 2009 – nomination “Best invention in the field of medicine and pharmacology”, patent for invention No. 84775 “Method of cryopreservation of human platelet concentrate”.
- 2015 – nomination “Medicine”, patents for invention No. 106337 and No. 109084 “Methods of inhibiting tumor growth and assessing the effectiveness of cancer treatment with nanoparticles”.
According to the resolutions of the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine, the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Trade Union of Ukraine, starting from 2000 and up to 2023 inclusive, the Institute takes prize places for achieving the best inventive work at the Biochemistry, Physiology and Molecular Biology Department of the NAS of Ukraine.
